In connection with a number of interior design assignments for Michelin restaurants in Copenhagen, Space Copenhagen developed the Spine collection. The series respects the traditions of hand upholstering in which Fredericia built its name on, while offering a modern flavour in its own succinct and simple way.

2012: HAIKU BY GAMFRATESI

With a nod to the Poet sofa by Finn Juhl, Danish/Italian design duo GamFratesi designed the playful Haiku sofa. Designed in 2011 and launched at the 2012 Salone di Mobile Milano to wide acclaim.

2012:
FREDERICIA’S FLAGSHIP STORE OPENS

In the up and coming Nørreport neighbourhood of Copenhagen, Fredericia opened its first flagship store. The first location to sell directly to the public, the flagship store showcases not only the Fredericia collection, but also unique accessories curated from Japan, Australia, and more.

After 2 years of research and development, Fredericia once again broke new ground when they entered into the plastic contract chair market. Launched at the 2013 Stockholm Furniture Fair, Pato’s immaculate detailing and craftsmanship propelled Fredericia once again into the instant success arena, with over 20.000 produced in the first two years.

2014: BØRGE MOGENSEN’S ANNIVERSARY

Throughout Børge Mogensen's 100th anniversary year, Fredericia paid tribute to not just the designer, but also his most iconic designs. Alfredo Häberli interpreted one of Mogensen's most iconic pieces, The Spanish Chair, in a variety of interesting and whimsical forms that are now permanently housed in design museums. A series of events honouring the designer were seen throughout the world, including Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, and beyond.

2014: JASPER MORRISON JOINS THE FREDERICIA FAMILY OF
DESIGNERS

Over tea and cinnamon biscuits in Fredericia’s Tokyo showroom, a conversation with designer Jasper Morrison about Børge Mogensen led to a collaboration between the renowned British designer and Fredericia. Morrison’s first design for Fredericia, the multipurpose Pon stool, is launched in Autumn 2015.

2015: FREDERICIA LAUNCHES NEW VISUAL IDENTITY AND GROWTH STRATEGY

Looking towards the future, a new logo and growth strategy designed for yet even more international expansion is launched in 2015. Also in 2015, Kaja Møller takes over the role of Managing Director at Fredericia succeeding Thomas Graversen. The appointment of Kaja Møller is an important and natural step towards realization of the corporate growth plan and Thomas Graversen maintains responsibility for design, products and production.

2015: HENRIK VIBSKOV
REINTERPRETS
MOGENSEN’S DESIGN

Rising star on the European fashion and design scene, designer Henrik Vibskov reworked the upholstery and softened the formality of Børge Mogensen’s No 1. Sofa. The interpretation crosses the boundary between time and tradition and the collaboration is heralded throughout the global design community.
