When Fredericia launched the Calmo sofa concept in 2019, it was to meet the need for individual solutions and personal interior design - both at home and in public spaces. A corner module for the series is now launched, increasing flexibility and offering numerous options.

In the Calmo series, designed by Hugo Passos, clean lines and discreet round shapes meet in an elegant, functional, and, above all, comfortable design. The series offers several different sizes, a chaise longue, an armchair, an ottoman, and now modules – including a corner module - that complement the many options for personalizing a setup. Whether you want to create a cozy space in the private home or a professional lounge inviting you to be social in, e.g., hotels or corporate environments, the Calmo series brings simplicity and comfort created for both work and relaxation. Add a wide selection of high-end textiles, each with its tonality and texture, and legs of either solid oak or steel for an expression adapted to the individual need.
Fredericia is known for solid craftsmanship and upholstery expertise, which is also clearly reflected in the Calmo series, created based on the best craft principles. Portuguese-born, Copenhagen-based designer Hugo Passos designs everyday objects that are familiar and enjoyable, both in form and use. Passos’ work is inspired by the designer’s ongoing interest in the human scale of everyday objects.

Without disregarding the artistic potential of design, Passos stays true to his view that designs must first and foremost serve their purpose and “do what they’re supposed to”.
