An icon inspired by history and culture
Mogensen is renowned for his pivotal role in shaping Danish Modernism. His enduring legacy reflects a lifelong ambition to create functional and beautiful furniture designed to last for generations. Mogensen found inspiration worldwide throughout his career, dedicating himself to creating everyday furniture that transcends mere functionality to enrich people's lives.
Andalucia was the backdrop of inspiration for The Spanish Chair. During a family trip through Spain, Mogensen encountered an ornate chair with wide armrests, a traditional style rooted in Spain's medieval furniture construction. He modernised this style, using solid oak and sturdy leather for the seat and back, secured by adjustable straps.
The new dark brown variant is a refreshing addition to the range. This exquisite shade effortlessly combines the warm, earthy tones of oak and emphasises walnut wood's deep, beautiful hues. These combinations transcend trends and stand the test of time.
