Model 6016 - By Mogens Koch
Description
MK16 Folding Chair
The MK16 Folding Chair is a precise and functional piece, designed by Mogens Koch with the same rigour he applied to architecture. Crafted in solid wood with saddle leather armrests, a cotton canvas seat, and solid brass fittings. The removable back and carefully considered construction ensure lightness, strength, and effortless use. A timeless design where craftsmanship, materials, and function exist in quiet balance.
A Striking Clarity of Form
Inspired by antique Roman folding chairs, Mogens Koch introduced the MK16 Folding Chair in 1932, guided by a quiet dedication to structure, proportion, and craftsmanship.
Every line and joint is reduced to its essential purpose. The construction is precise yet unassuming, an expression of functional rigor that feels almost effortless. Ingeniously engineered, the MK16 became the definitive folding chair: a design that blends utility and timeless elegance.
Each MK16 Folding Chair is meticulously handcrafted at Fredericia’s carpentry workshop, using solid oak or beech. Here, every detail is executed with the same care and precision as the original design, ensuring lasting durability and faithful adherence to Koch’s vision.
Designed for the Everyday
The MK16 Folding Chair is crafted to evolve with daily life. The intentional use of wood, leather, and brass ensures a natural patina that brings depth and character over time.
Lightweight and compact, the MK16 moves, stores, and adapts effortlessly - responding to everyday needs while remaining uncompromising in comfort and stability.
