Originally drawn in 1970 as one of Børge Mogensen’s final designs, the Canvas Chair reflects a lifetime devoted to clarity, proportion, and honest construction. The outdoor adaptation preserves the original silhouette - its open frame, exposed joinery, and disciplined lines - while refining its material performance for exterior living. Crafted from FSC-certified teak, the frame is chosen for strength, stability, and its ability to age gracefully, developing a soft silvery patina over time.
At its core, the chair has a balance of solidity and suspension. The teak frame provides permanence and precision, while the tensioned canvas seat and backrest offer subtle adaptability and lasting comfort. Materials are left to speak for themselves, without ornaments.

Teak is a dense, oil-rich hardwood ideal for outdoor use. It can be oiled up to twice a year to maintain its warm tone or left untreated to develop a natural silver-grey patina. The Heritage performance canvas by Sunbrella is a durable, water- and stain-resistant fabric made with up to 50% recycled fibres and can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
For longevity, store the chair indoors during harsh weather and avoid placing it directly on the grass.
