Where warmth meets precision
Building upon the success of the original Plan Collection, Fredericia and acclaimed British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby introduce the Plan Wood Series, a warm and tactile evolution of the collection. Natural oak meets architectural clarity, transforming everyday furniture into objects of enduring beauty.
“ The Plan Wood Series is the latest addition to the Plan family and a natural next step following the success of the original metal chair. ”
Barber Osgerby
The Plan Wood Chair and Table are designed with soft proportions, comfort, and durability in mind. Rounded edges and sensorial surfaces make each piece as satisfying to touch as it is to use – whether around the dining table or in public spaces where people gather. It’s a collection that moves seamlessly with life, versatile enough to suit any setting.
The chair balances a compact silhouette with visible joinery that celebrates both the character of the oak and the care of its craftsmanship. The table complements this with clean, rounded lines and an oak tabletop radiating warmth and strength. Together, they form a cohesive set where understated elegance meets practical functionality.
Barber Osgerby
Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their East London studio in 1996 after studying architecture at the Royal College of Art. For more than three decades, their work has challenged the boundaries of design internationally.
Barber Osgerby's design approach is characterised by its strong emphasis on experimentation and innovation, along with a curious exploration of materials and colours. From these focal points emerge solutions that demonstrate the close relationship between their work, industrial processes, and new technologies.
The British design duo collaborates with leading global manufacturers, including Vitra, Knoll, B&B Italia, Flos, Venini, and Hermès. Their work is held in permanent museum collections worldwide, including the V&A and the Design Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Recognised for their outstanding contributions to the design industry, Barber Osgerby has earned numerous prestigious awards. In 2004, they were honoured with the Jerwood Prize and granted the status of Royal Designers for Industry in 2007. In 2013, they received appointments to the Order of the British Empire, acknowledging their exceptional service to design. Additionally, in 2015, they were bestowed with the London Design Medal.
